For supporting different projects within the pharmaceutical sector we are searching a Construction Manager Pharma.


During the design phase of the projects, the Construction Manager's role exists in the support and coordination of the different techniques in order to result in a coordinated design study.

During the construction phase of the projects, your role will be to manage the different teams and acitivities that are performed during the phase. The Construction Manager needs to focus on execution, quality, management of teams, interdisciplinary coordination and safety for all disciplines. You will decide on the organisation of the work site and define the rules that need to be respected by all parties.

All this will be written down in the "basic site instructions" document. Apart from that you will also write the access procedure that defines which areas are accessible and which are not, and whom grant access. Of course you will keep the documents up-to-date with the evolution of the work site.

You will be responsible for all general site signage as well as for demarcation of the work site with the necessary temporary signage. Ensuring work permits, necessary approvals and communication concerning special permits is also an important aspect of your role. As is the organisation of daily site meetings, the organisation of the daily activities and the approvals for communication of and the framework for activities outside normal working hours.

Safety, order, tidiness, maintenance of site installations, management of the site file and the archiving of all relevant documents are aspects that are part of your day-to-day activities.

Your technical knowledge in all disciplines can help you to add your input and detect conflicts between disciplines so you are able to solve them quickly together with the discipline engineers.

You report to the Project Manager during construction phase and manage the team of engineers and contractors that are involved in the project. You are the main contact person for the customer, the contractors and the members of the engineering office during this construction phase.

As you can see, all these activities will be carried out in a multi-disciplinary engineering team and involve close co-operation with several client departments.

The largest part of the job will be performed on our clients' premises, throughout Belgium.




  • Chemical or Electro-mechanical engineering degree;
  • At least five years of experience with Construction Management within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector;
  • Fluency in French, English and Dutch is required;
  • Communicative and problem solving skills;
  • Team player.
